Great White Shark Vs Great White Shark Caught On Camera

0
0

There’s a lot of stuff going on in the ocean that we don’t really know about and a lot of weird creatures we have no clue about too.

One creature we do know a lot about though is the great white shark and we know that it’s one of the biggest predators in the ocean. However, one thing they don’t generally do is attack each other, which is why it’s all the more special that this video of two of them going at it off the coast of South Australia. The rare moment was captured a couple of days ago and uploaded onto the internet.

Pretty scary stuff, although perhaps not as terrifying as these pictures of a diver almost getting swallowed by a whale.

50 Foot Crab Spotted Off The Coast Of England

Ok so this is being reported in a wide array of different publications today and it does seem like it’s a hoax – I mean despite all the weird and wonderful creatures in the ocean, can anyone genuinely believe that a 50 foot giant crab actually exists? Perhaps not, but if it doesn’t then just what is that picture?

The photograph first emerged on the website Weird Whitstable, where the image was forwarded to its founder Quinton Winter. Quinton insists that he’s seen the creature with his own two eye though:

At first all I could see was some faint movement, then as it rose from the water I thought, ‘that’s a funny looking bit of driftwood. It had glazed blank eyes on stalks, swivelling wildly and it clearly was a massive crab with crushing claws.

Before this incident I thought the aerial photo showed an odd-shaped sand bank. Now I know better.

A graphic artist name Ashley Austin has come out though and said that the image could have been easily faked via Photoshop though:

The image of the giant crab can be quite easily recreated in Photoshop.

All the ‘artist’ had to do is find a suitable image of a crab, overlay it on to the satellite picture of the harbour and apply a few filters to it to get the realistic look.

So there you have it, it’s probably fake and until we get a better picture of it we’ll probably never know. To be honest I would probably prefer it to be fake as we can’t really have giant crabs terrorising us can we – we’ve already got this snake that looks like a giant penis causing trouble in Brazil, we don’t really want any more do we?

Biologist Discovers 12 Pound 70 Year Old Giant Lobster

It’s well documented here on Sick Chirpse that there are a hell of a lot of completely messed up creatures living in the ocean, and more and more seem to be discovered every day like this black seadevil anglerfish which was only discovered a couple of weeks ago.

The lobster isn’t exactly a new creature, but it’s really rare to find one anywhere near as big as this one these days. That’s because due to overfishing and general ocean conditions they rarely have the opportunity to grow that big and so usually weigh no more than three pounds. Take a look at it below:

Lobster

I’m sure you’ll agree that’s a hefty son of a bitch right there and that dude must be pretty insane to hold it up to himself (wait until you see it hugging him in the video below – gross). The guy’s name is Forrest Galante and he’s a biologist from Santa Barbara. He was free diving off the coast into the Pacific Ocean there when he spotted the lobster and just had to go and grab it.

Galante wasn’t sure whether to eat it or let it go but decided he had to at least take it back to his home and show his family. They quickly made the decision that it should be let back out into the wild (nice one guys) and dropped it off at a nearby marine reserve after taking a few pictures of it. Let’s hope it continues to live a long and happy life and isn’t eaten any time soon.

This Octopus Jumping Out Of The Water And Eating A Crab Is Proof We’re All Completely Doomed

Even though they aren’t exactly the weirdest creatures in the ocean, octopuses are absolutely terrifying creatures that scare the crap out of me, and this video just makes them even scarier.

It was filmed over in Western Australia and it involves an octopus totally sneak attacking a crab. The thing is, the octopus itself jumps out of the water to attack the crab and is absolutely rapid – I had no idea they ate crabs or that they could jump out of the water and attack them so effectively. The video ends with the octopus dragging the crab back into the water to eat it. Grim.

The video was shot by a girl named Porsche Indrisie who aptly works in the a seafood restaurant. She had this to say about it:

I don’t know why I started filming it, but I always have a camera in front of my face. It really was just a random moment.

I was just so surprised the octopus could leap out of the water like that.

Yeah, I think anyone would be girl. Evolution, man.

Cows Break Into Woman’s House And Poo Everywhere Whilst She’s In The Shower

Cows are pretty simple creatures so you can’t really blame them for just taking craps wherever they want – they spend most of their time hanging around in fields wagging their tails and it’s perfectly acceptable for them to do it there so you may as well let them be.

However, when they manage to break into your house whilst you’re in the shower and leave turds lying all over the place then you’re not exactly going to be too happy with them. That’s what happened to Pat Costen, from Guernsey, when she forgot to lock the doors whilst she was enjoying a piping hot shower and a couple of cows from a nearby conservation herd bred to protect grasslands wandered in.

Here’s how Pat described it:

They came in through the kitchen, along the corridor, round the snooker table and into the study where they scattered a pile of my papers.

Then they made their way back along the corridor and into the small TV room where we found them.

There were cow pats everywhere.

Sounds really annoying. And pretty stinky too.

Check out some pictures of the cows and their leftovers on the slideshow. Maybe they should have check rout this video on how to do the perfect poo before they invaded Pat’s house eh?

WATCH: The Goliath Tigerfish Is One Scary Mofo

It’s well known that there are a lot of really creepy and scary creatures lurking around the ocean, but I didn’t think that there was anything as monstrous as this just floating around in regular rivers. Sure there are piranhas – which we all know are completely lethal – but this is one big son of a bitch and I don’t ever want to be caught anywhere near one of them to be honest.

Luckily that might be easy to achieve as this one is found in the Congo and I doubt I’ll be going swimming in that any time soon, but that doesn’t mean this guy won’t be populating my nightmares for the next few days. It’s called a Goliath Tigerfish and they can grow up to six metres long and have teeth that are are as lethal as piranhas and a jaw that is as strong as a crocodile’s. Basically, you don’t want to mess with these dudes at all.

Despite the obvious dangers, this badass fisher Jeremy Wade decided to try and catch one anyway, and surprisingly succeeded. It’s even creepier close up as you see its teeth chomp up and down and its horrible eyes freaking you out. I wouldn’t normally say this but I hope Jeremy didn’t put it back in the river after this video was finished because one less of these guys definitely wouldn’t have me crying.

The Giant Panda Is No Longer An Endangered Species

I don’t think I’ve ever heard of an endangered species becoming no longer endangered during my lifetime, but now I can say that I have thanks to the work of the International Union for Conservation of Nature with the giant panda.

Featured Image VIA

The IUCN announced this weekend that the status of the species is no longer ‘endangered’ and has been upgraded to ‘vulnerable’ with 1,864 adult giant pandas now in existence and 2060 if you include cubs in that figure too. Result.

A spokesman said the following:

Pandas

Evidence from a series of range-wide national surveys indicate that the previous population decline has been arrested, and the population has started to increase.

The improved status confirms that the Chinese government’s efforts to conserve this species are effective.

They’ve replanted bamboo forests so that the animals have somewhere to live and food to eat and sunk a lot of money into conservation.

Image VIA

Yeah, like I said, absolutely great news and proof that efforts like this can be successful if everyone gets behind them and enough money is invested. Fantastic.

For more giant pandas, check out this giant panda’s record breaking sex tape. Sure that had something to do with the repopulation of the species.

This Dude Getting A Giant Parasite Removed From His Nose Will Haunt Your Dreams

Thinking of all the stuff that is going on in your body and all the little parasites and weird creatures that could be hanging out at any moment in there is enough to make you take a long, cold shower. But after watching this video, you might just have a nervous breakdown. Or at least throw up.

Featured Image VIA

The video is of an American man who appears to have gotten the biggest tapeworm in history stuck up his nose. I’m not joking about that either, as it takes the nurse in the video about 30 seconds to pull the whole thing out of his snout. It’s humongous.

Not even sure how it could really even fit in there because it’s literally gigantic:

Ugh – that looks so rank and painful. Especially when the guy is screaming about how uncomfortable he is and he still has to endure about another 20 seconds of her pulling that motherfucker out of there. Completely and utterly grim.

For more tapeworms, check out this story about a guy who had a 6.2m tapeworm pulled out of his ass. Lay off the raw beef kids.

Deep Sea Fisherman Terrifies The Entire Internet With Pics Of His Most Horrifying Catches

It’s no secret that there are some nightmareish creatures lurking at the bottom of the ocean. It’s the place where god experiments with his most fucked up, disgusting ideas for new sentient beings.

Featured Image VIA

Roman Fedortsov is a deep sea fisherman in Russia and he gets to meet fucked up fish all the time. Get a load of some of the monstrosities he’s been sharing on Twitter:

Holy shit balls. What the hell are those things? No one actually knows and that’s the scary part. Even scarier is the fact there are countless more of these so-called fish swimming around that humankind will never manage to discover. Stay away from the deep seas, is my advice.

Hans Zimmer Has Officially Signed Up To Provide The Music For ‘Blue Planet II’

‘Planet Earth II’ was undoubtedly one of the television highlights of last year and although we were all sad to see it go, there was some respite in the fact that David Attenborough was going to be returning for ‘Blue Planet II’ this year.

Featured Image VIA

In case you missed the first series of ‘Blue Planet’, it’s pretty much like ‘Planet Earth’ except it focusses on the weird marine life all over the world rather than animals in general. Like ‘Planet Earth II’, it looks like it’s destined to raise the bar yet again.

Here’s the official synopsis:

BBC’s Natural History Unit has spent four years recording footage of unbelievable new places, extraordinary new behaviours and remarkable new creatures. Showing a contemporary portrait of marine life, it will provide a timely reminder that this is a critical moment for the health of the world’s oceans.

It’s also been announced that legendary composer Hans Zimmer will be returning to the show to provide the score, which again should make you even more excited about its return later in the year. There are also a couple of trailers out which will whet your appetite even more:

Yeah, they’re not really giving much away there are they? But I suppose you know it’s going to be good anyway so they don’t really need to. A release date might have been appreciated though.

For more Hans Zimmer, check out David Attenborough himself singing his praises here. Absolute legend.

Tremors Is Returning As A TV Show Starring Kevin Bacon

If you haven’t heard of Tremors then it is legitimately one of the best horror-comedies of the 90s, telling the story of some people living in an isolated desert town who are forced to defend themselves from some scaryass burrowing worm like creatures that are trying to eat them called Graboids. It really is a lot of fun.

Featured Image VIA

The movie was so successful that it inspired several direct to video sequels and a short-lived TV series back in 2003, but original star Kevin Bacon is rejoining the cast for the latest sequel TV show, set 25 years after the original. His character Valentine McKee will be returning, and Jason Blum – the man behind Blumhouse Productions, who are responsible for several of the best horror movies of recent years like The Purge, Insidious and Sinister – is also involved. Exciting.

Here’s what Bacon had to say about his return to the show:

Tremors

This is the only character I’ve played that I’ve ever thought about revisiting. I just got to thinking, where would this guy end up after 25 years?

Andrew Miller has a fantastic take on it and we hope to create a show that will be fun and scary for fans of the movie and folks that have yet to discover it. Let’s kick some Graboid ass!

The thing is, to me what’s interesting about that guy is that he was doing nothing, working as a handyman.

And then because of this extraordinary circumstance, he gets to become a hero!

So, what happens after you’ve become an accidental hero? 25 years later. And that’s the thing we want to explore in this series.

Image VIA

Doesn’t really sound like it’s going to be that much about kicking those weird Graboid worm’s asses, but I’m sure it’s going to be pretty entertaining with the team they’ve assembled and the worms will be appearing at some point. Definitely excited for this one.

For more horror movies, check out some of the best of all time. Can’t believe Tremors wasn’t included.

Passengers Cheer As ‘Vile And Rowdy’ Hen Party Gets Chucked Off Ryanair Flight

Ryanair really does pull in the classiest clientele – just check out this hen party that had to get booted off the plane for acting like what fellow passengers described as “creatures”.

Featured Image VIA

The women, who were on their way to Alicante from Liverpool last night (classic) had reportedly been necking vodka whilst screaming and swearing throughout the flight. They were so noisy that they were kicked off the plane as soon as it landed, leading the other passengers to cheer as the airline staff escorted them out:

Brilliant. I’m judging by the scale of that cheer that those women were an absolute nightmare on the flight over. According to Ryanair staff, the party was removed and detained by local police. Looks like that hen do has turned into a hen don’t.

Those women caused nearly as much of a stir as this couple who were caught shagging on a busy Ryanair flight from Manchester to Ibiza. As said, Ryanair pulls in the classiest customers.

Stunning BBC Footage Shows An Octopus Casually Strolling On Dry Land

Octopuses are fairly terrifying when you think about it – if they’re big enough then they could probably suffocate you alive fairly easily, but the one saving grace from this would be that if you made it out of the water then you would probably be OK.

Featured Image VIA

Or so you would have thought until you encountered this extraordinary new species found in Northern Australia. Land doesn’t seem to be a problem for this kind of octopus, as it hits the beach to hunt crabs in behaviour that has never been seen before:

Geez – that thing is goddamn freaky. I never thought I’d be scared of an octopus, but here we are. I’ll add it to the list.

For more octopuses, check out this one grabbing a seagull from behind and then suffocating it. They’re evolving man.

Tiny ‘Meat-Loving’ Sea Bugs Ate Teenager’s Legs While He Went For A Swim

A teenager over in Australia emerged from a beach with blood pouring from his legs after tiny “meat-loving” sea bugs ripped through his skin.

Featured Image VIA

Sam Kanizay, 16, emerged from the beach in Melbourne on Saturday with blood all over him, in a scene that resembled a horror movie. Sam only spent 30 minutes in the sea but during this time something must have attracted the flesh-eating bugs. He said:

I walked out and saw what I thought was sand covering my calf and shook it off, and by the time I’d walked across the sand…. I looked down and noticed I had blood all over my ankles.

It took a while to get all the blood off and it came back pretty quickly… It sort of looked like hundreds of little pinholes or pin-sized bites distributed all over my ankle and the top of my foot.

Jarrod, Sam’s dad, said his son was OK and wasn’t in any pain, although he did go to the hospital due to the high level of bleeding. The next day, his dad returned to the beach, filled a net with raw meat and captured a load of the little bugs. You can watch them in action below:

They’re little savages aren’t they? I always thought that being eaten alive by piranhas would be one of the most slow and painful deaths, but I think we’ve just found something even worse.

Experts have given varying assessments of the identity of the bugs and said that those caught on film could be different to the ones that ate Sam’s legs. Although surely that’s not the case – how many different types of flesh-eating bugs are there in Australian water?

Sam Kanizay 1

Image VIA

An expert on marine biology at Monash University, Richard Reina, said that he thought the creatures were probably sea lice and that attacks like this were “very rare”:

When it happens you brush it off, or move, or get out of the water and there’s no consequence, whereas in this case, Sam was standing in cold water for quite a long time.

Either way, it’s not something that you’d want to happen to you – I guess that’s one more thing to add to the list of scary creatures you’ll find in Australia along with sharks, snakes and massive spiders.
